My mom passed away last night. It was quiet and peaceful: she wasn't in any pain. It was also a bit of a shock. She was in hospice, so we had been expecting it to some extent, but we weren't expecting it so soon. Jonathan has been my rock and I am grateful to him for everything. For some reason, the Death of Neil Gaiman's cat, Zoe, is seriously messing me up. I guess it is because Zoe is a female tabby version of my Sam. I lost him 9 years ago. My favorite present this holiday season was the dutch oven, which I discovered today will definitely have to go back. It had two small chips on the rim, which I might have been able to work around.
